About

I started Joanne Crigamire Editing and Proofreading several years ago, but it seems I’ve been editing my whole life! It is an innate talent that I am so thankful for. For many years I was an adolescent psychiatric nurse, and then I fell in love with working with autistic children. I was a behavioral interventionist for them for nearly twenty years. During this period, I was busy writing and editing in my spare time. I’ve always believed in doing what you love and I am doing it - every day. I love climbing into your story and walking around in there!

What exactly do I do when I’m not editing?

I read and write, a lot! I also love animals. I have eight cats and a dog. (The dog’s name is Edgar!) I have also started a Free Children’s Lending Library in my front yard. This is my happy place. I have storytime, crafts, art shows, and other fun activities here. I tutor reading and English as well.

When I was fourteen, the book “The House Next Door” is the book that made me love reading and want to be part of the story process. Hence, editing!
